    Hi everyone,

    There's a new show coming this year, it's called "Mumbo Jumbo" and you can catch the first few performances next month at The Stand clubs in Edinburgh, Newcastle & Glasgow.
    Dates & show description below;

    "Multi award winning comedian Sean Hughes is back with a new show called Mumbo Jumbo.
    Through out his life he has been battling to stay on the right side of sanity. This is because in middle age he has realised that the two sides of his brain are in constant conflict.

    There is common sense against mumbo jumbo and mumbo jumbo seems to have the upper hand.
    The show consists of stories including being serenaded at the break of dawn by Robert Smith, trekking mountain gorillas in Rwanda and coming to the conclusion that he will never have a proper conversation with his dear mum.
    There will be a few poems and a 3-minute musical about aging too.
    "

  • January 15th 2014 LIFE BECOMES NOISES
    Hello everyone, my show, "Life Becomes Noises" is now out on DVD thanks to GoFasterStripe.

    The 'blurb' from GoFasterStripe's page is...

    "Life Becomes Noises has been hailed as a career defining show for Hughes, taking comedy on to a new level altogether.

    From the moment the lights come up, it becomes apparent that this is going to be no ordinary comedy show. 'Knowing exactly when to puncture any incipient melancholy or earnestness with an expertly crafted gag' (The Daily Telegraph), Sean makes his triumphant return to the stage redefining his craft with a narrative that makes audience laugh or cry at the blink of an eye.

    Sean has been dealing with his father's death in a way that only Sean can. Here is a comedy performance from Sean like you've never seen before. This hilarious yet poignant tale is a beautiful insight into the lighter side of dying and getting older, going to places that comedy rarely goes, highlighting how ridiculous life is and how quickly it can be taken away.

    This DVD also features Sean's appearance on Richard Herring's Leicester Square Theatre Podcast, where the pair discuss Morrissey, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and more. "

    You can watch a trailer for the show, filmed on tour, here - and you can buy the show on DVD from GoFasterStripe's website, here.
